Street Architecture / People – New York

When I’m roaming the streets of NY I find the Architecture and the Light more interesting than the people. Don’t get me wrong, people are interesting but I don’t find them being “recognizable” necessary in my photos. I love structures. I love people. Both in my images help but I don’t need their faces to love them. Take the image above I stole at Hudson Yards. The light, reflections, and structure is more interested than the dude on the bench. However I do admit that the “Dude” does add a little bit more to the image. And in the image below, again, the girls rushing off to or from lunch do tend to add a little to the image. The real star in my opinion is the sliver of light peeking around the building and creating insane shadows, highlights, and reflections.

Or take the guy above, peering obsessively through the window of The Shed, trying to get a glimpse of what kind of Kinetic Artwork delights are inside without paying the entry fee. He also gives a feel of real SCALE for the building which is massive.

I cannot wait to return in November and take he family here to see what is inside!
